Description:

UBC Staff Professional Development (PD) Funds can help cover the cost of learning activities that enhance your work-related knowledge, skills, and performance, while also supporting your ongoing career development and advancement at UBC.

This information session will help you understand eligibility criteria, what PD Funds can be used for, what is not eligible, key submission deadlines, and how to submit either an out-of-pocket or department-paid reimbursement request.

By the end of this 60-minute session, you will:

• Understand PD Fund guidelines, including how annual funding pools are allocated and how your personal funding availability may vary over the fiscal year depending on demand.
• Know what learning activities are eligible and not eligible for PD funding
• Learn how to submit two different types of PD Fund claim in Workday, including the approval process and reimbursement timelines
• Have the opportunity to ask questions directly to the PD Fund team during a live Q&A
• Know who to contact for additional support or follow-up questions

Important notes:

• The session will not be recorded, but slides will be shared.
• Participation will be via Zoom chat. There will not be breakout rooms.
• Closed-captioning will be enabled.
